Beautiful Cowboys
You see, there is not but a cow on that prairie,
Barren, dry, lifeless land, that is no such place for a cow,
Heels planted, rumps tucked, arm balanced, chins hidden,
This is not the pair for a cow.
You see, there may be no cow, and that may be no cow horse,
But one thing for sure, is that is one hell of a cowboy.
You see, a cowboy need not a cow,
Need he hands of steel, and a Texan sized heart,
Need he the patience of a saint, the faith of a mustard seed,
and a rank bronc beneath him.
You see, a cowboy needn't be a rancher,
He needn’t be a father, husband, neither friend,
All that, a cowboy longs for.
You see, a set of reins will bring him back,
Back to Him, back to her, and back to them all.
The cowboy always comes back,
That is what makes them beautiful.
